FAQ

The best way to get an accurate price range is by booking a (free!) consultation with the artist—if not in person, then through a brief detailed email. In order for us to quote your idea, we need to consider the subject, size, placement on the body, detail, etc. You are also welcome to come into the shop and talk to one of our managers or artists, if they’re available. We’re always more than happy to help get you the information you need.
At OEK FACTORY, we prioritize your safety and satisfaction by adhering to the highest standards in safe work processes, using only the best quality materials and staying up-to-date with the latest regulations to ensure your tattoo is not only beautiful, but also safe and healthy.

We strictly adhere to German law and only tattoo individuals of legal age, starting at 18 years old, or from age 16 with a legal guardian present.

Your tattoo will only stretch or shrink along with your skin; it won’t distort its shape, so there’s no need to worry.

Although we strive to satisfy every client, we regret to inform you that we do not offer white tattoos. Human skin is not transparent and has its own natural color, which can make white tattoos almost invisible after healing. For this reason, we cannot guarantee the quality or satisfaction of white tattoos and, therefore, do not offer them in our studio.

Definitely not! At OEK FACTORY, we value and respect each client’s individuality, and we do not discriminate against or judge any ideas. Our experienced artists will work with you to create the best design and placement for your idea, taking your input into account. We believe in open communication and collaboration between our artists and clients to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the design before getting your tattoo.

Yes, we do! We believe that a successful tattoo cover-up requires careful consideration of the existing tattoo and the desired new design. Request an appointment and send pictures of the tattoo you want to cover. Our team will consult with one of our cover-up experts based on photos of the current tattoo. We’ll get in touch with you to schedule an appointment or consultation.

To ensure the best possible result for your tattoo, we provide all our clients with a detailed aftercare handout and our own tattoo cream. While the tattoo takes about two weeks to heal, it can take several months for the skin to fully regenerate. By following our aftercare instructions and using our tattoo cream, you can ensure your tattoo will look great for years to come.

Yes! But in the best possible way. Your brain releases endorphins when you experience pain, and your body loves endorphins.

While tattoos over scars are possible with the help of our experienced artist, it’s important to note that scars must be fully healed, with no visible redness, before proceeding. For more information on your options, please provide us with images of the scar, and we’ll arrange an additional consultation appointment with you.

To ensure the best possible outcome for your tattoo, we recommend avoiding sports for 14 days and avoiding saltwater and sun exposure for about two weeks. If you plan to swim in chlorinated water, an additional week of patience is required. Remember that special care in the early stages benefits the longevity of your tattoo.

Yes, tattooing does break the skin, so there will be some bleeding, but it’s minimal, and the artist will continuously wipe it away.

If you’re concerned about fainting at the sight of blood, please inform your artist beforehand so they can help you feel comfortable throughout the process.

We believe in providing our clients with the best possible tattoo experience, which is why we offer a free touch-up for tattoos within 6 months of the initial tattoo. If you feel your tattoo needs a touch-up after the healing phase (6-8 weeks), feel free to send us a photo of your tattoo at info@oekfactory.com.

We recommend having a good meal before coming in and remembering to stay hydrated. If you start feeling lightheaded, drink a soda—sugar is your friend in this situation. Walking around Berlin all day in the summer without drinking water, then coming to your tattoo appointment on an empty stomach, is a surefire way to faint. It’s best to avoid partying the night before, as alcohol can increase bleeding for up to 24 hours. Blood also dilutes our pigments, which affects both the appearance of your tattoo and the healing process. Remember to stay calm and relaxed—you’re in good hands. No need to worry; we’ll take care of you!

At OEK FACTORY, we place great importance on hygiene and comfort in our studio, which is why we prefer to welcome clients without companions. Rest assured, however, that we will take excellent care of you during your tattoo session.
